Who We Are
In May of 2001, the Northeast District of the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions began strategic planning for a new Rescue Mission. They began by visiting the major cities of southern New Hampshire, talking to the pastors of both large and small churches, making connections with other service providers, and meeting with community leaders to determine the viability and best location for this work of the Kingdom. It was clear that God was at work, and that Nashua was the best suited place for this ministry, based upon the openness and welcoming attitudes of both church and community leaders. In May of 2003, David Blacksmith (the Mission's Executive Director), and his wife Sheryl and family arrived on the Mission field. They immediately began taking appropriate measures to begin Rescue Mission work in Nashua and the surrounding areas.CrossWay parterners with the Rescue Mission in several ways. In November, 60-70 individuals gave up part of their Saturday to help paint, clear and do whatever they could to help SNHRM clean up their new facility so that they would be able to serve Thanksgiving dinner to the many homeless in our community.During the second weekend of each month, CrossWay collects clothes, food and other items which are then donated to the Rescue Mission to help meet some of the many needs that the homeless have. For more information on the Southern New Hampshire Rescue Mission, check out their website at www.snhrm.org.
