For over 50 years, Orchard Group (formerly "Go Ye" Chapel MIssion) has held to one single purpose: Planting churches. We know of no more effective way to take the Gospel to the masses of people in New York and through the Northeast than planting new churches.
The Orchard Group plants English-speaking churches, often using multiple-person staffs and mass mailing start-ups. This has allowed recent church plants to grow, and to stay on schedule for reaching self-support status. In addition, the Orchard Group also plants non-English-speaking churches. These include Hispanic, West Indian, West African, and Hisportic congregations. These churches reach the newly arriving immigrants who pour into New York City and the surrounding area each year.
The second multiple-staff, English-speaking church of the decade was a joint venture, involving the churches of New England and the Northeast, as well as East 91st Street Christian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. CrossWay Christian Church was born on October 15, 1995 in Nashua, New Hampshire. David Smith was the founding minister of the church. CrossWay is now heavily involved in planting additional new churches in the New York area.
