John and Amy Haller

John and Amy Haller’s journey is one of inspiration and devotion to God’s Kingdom. Not only have their lives been impacted by CrossWay, but they’ve also built into the lives of many others.

John and Amy both grew up in Christian homes and came to faith in their youth. John’s family attended a Southern Baptist church in his hometown of Evansville, IN, while Amy’s family attended a Methodist church in New Martinsville, WV. Both continued to attend church in their college years, but felt that they weren’t growing in their faith.

The couple met in Washington D.C. Their story together began with an engagement just six- months later. John and Amy moved many times early in their marriage. With little time to settle down, they tried many churches throughout their trek, and continued their search upon firmly establishing roots in Nashua.

In early 2001, the Haller’s lives intersected with CrossWay. John and Amy noticed something different about the church. "We were immediately struck by the music and how different it was from any church we’d ever attended," they explained. "There seemed to be a life at CrossWay that just wasn’t apparent at other churches. We began to attend CrossWay regularly, where we started a lifelong journey of discipleship in Christ."

The Hallers found so much more than inspiring Sunday morning services at CrossWay. "What’s really made a difference for us are the relationships we’ve developed with other people in the church." CrossWay has encouraged them to get involved and connect through small groups and retreats. Responding to that message, they met Rob and Laura Livie. Rob introduced John to the book "Wild At Heart," which opened a path for life change within the Haller family.

Having attended "Wild At Heart" events in Colorado, God awakened a strong desire within John to go deeper in his faith. John was so impacted through this experience that he and Amy joined a life group with other CrossWay families. The purpose of this group wasn’t just to do a study or to hold each other accountable; "it was about living life together and helping each other in our spiritual growth," they said. God connected the Hallers with a body of believers who not only look out for each other, but also encourage an outwardly- focused pursuit of God’s Kingdom.

The Hallers and members of their life group have brought the "Wild At Heart" experience to New England. Faithfully, they started the "Expedition of the Heart" retreat. Over 100 men have attended two renewing events bringing them closer to God.
