Jim and Monique Gagne
Step into CrossWay for the first time, and you’ll be blessed by the musical and theatrical talents of Jim and Monique Gagne. Their special talents have greatly enriched CrossWay.
"From the first days, the leadership at CrossWay has consistently encouraged us to step out in faith, take a risk for God and try new things," said Monique. Jim agreed. "Through the years, God has shown His faithfulness, and has given us what was needed to do the things He asked of us. This has changed the way we look at everything and affected every area of our lives. We have also made life-long friends who challenge us to grow in our relationship with Jesus. We are so grateful for the CrossWay family and its positive influence in our walk with God."
Originally, Jim and Monique came to help at CrossWay’s opening in October, 1995. They soon became used to the ride from Manchester to Nashua. Initially, they gave CrossWay a two-month commitment, but then extended it for another six months. At the end of the six months, they could not leave.
They fell in love with the people and were very excited about what God was doing at CrossWay. In the first few years, Jim ran the sound booth and Monique taught first and second grades in Sunday School. Later, Monique joined the Worship and Drama Teams. She thoroughly enjoys contributing to these ministries.
Monique has been challenged by the sermons at CrossWay to really reach out to fellow students at school. Evangelism is not easy, she admits, but CrossWay’s emphasis on reaching out to the community has encouraged her to keep trying. Monique is hoping to take the knowledge she is acquiring in school to minister to struggling and financially hurting families.
CrossWay’s emphasis on excellence in the Arts has had a large impact on Jim. Jim was always a bit of a closet musician until an opening for a bass player on the Worship Team came along. Though he struggled with stage fright when he auditioned, now, ten years later, he still loves every minute of it. The best thing for Jim is discovering that you can really love what you are doing while serving God.
They both appreciate that CrossWay’s message is to live the love of God every moment in every day.
